Well I've only been using this for a few minutes, but I remember checking this out at Costco. I'm currently living in an apt right now, and it already has a window air conditioner in the bedroom. In the living room where I have my computer, it gets rather hot since the air flow isn't directly between the balcony and the bedroom window, and I get pretty sweaty. Theres a heat wave going on right now too, so I just happened to be looking at a portable air conditioner from Sharp for around $380, and figured it was too heavy, not as portable, and may break down due to the coolant/radiator in the back.

This caught my eye when I felt the cool breeze, and it provides a good vertical stream of cool air (you'll still need ventilation).

Its working rather well, and I'm getting a nice cool breeze... although my eyes are getting a bit dry. Perhaps I'll put the small one behind me.

I purchased this set of Bionaire Tower Fan and Mini Tower Fan Combo at GTM. These were fans which had been returned to Costco, then moved to GTM. All the boxes in the store had been opened and resealed. I picked the one with the least damaged box. When I opened it at home I found the remote control was missing, the base was scratched up, and the silver sides of the tall fan had at least 7 or 8 big dents. I took it back and was told that the employees always open them when they come in from Costco, to can be sure the parts are complete. Hmmmm. I did get all our money back, but wasted a lot of time. There must have been 15 of the same fan on the shelf, all in returned boxes. That should have been a clue.
